Three things to love about a visit from my dad...

Well, as the timing of this post shows, Lucy (this week the size of a melon) is starting to slow me down a bit. My dad's visit was a perfect break between lots of busy weeks at work trying to wrap things up before she comes and quite a few baby classes and appointments...
We took a little trip to Amherst for homemade onion rings and a visit to Emily Dickinson's house. These little white houses with her poems are everywhere right now.
My dad assembled Lucy's crib and rocking chair, put up her blinds and curtains, and a hundred other things we had been postponing for just the right moment. Isn't it starting to look ready for someone?
For his last night in town, we indulged Lucy's sweet tooth with these delicious ice cream samplers in the South End.

What a gorgeous nursery! Glad your dad could come up and lend a hand. You are getting so close! Hope you can squeeze in as many naps as possible.

is that cookie dough ice cream? can't believe she could be here by your next post! and then it will be so hard to keep the 'things to love' count to 3!

I didn't know that Amherst was known for onion rings... seems like Emily Dickinson would have been a happier person if she got out for some onion rings once in a while. And ice cream, all three samplers. thinking of you... Love, sussah
